INDUSTRY APPLICATION

Hardware components are diverse in specification but consistent in material requirements: good machinability, cost control, and stable quality. From construction hardware to industrial fasteners, carbon steel dominates this segment.

01

Carbon Steel Round Bar

Carbon steel covers nearly all hardware component needs. SS400 and A36 general structural steels are the standard for basic bolts, nuts, U-bolts, and anchor bolts used in structural steelwork, machine frames, and general fastening. Low-carbon S10C/S15C/S20C suit rivets, washers, pins, and stampings where ductility aids cold forming. S35C and S45C cover higher-strength bolts, nuts, hinge pins, and eye bolts. S45C with induction hardening achieves significantly higher surface hardness for wear-resistant pulley shafts and guide pins.

02

Alloy Steel Round Bar

Alloy steels in hardware focus on high-strength fasteners and safety-critical load-bearing parts. SCM435 is the standard for 10.9-grade and above high-strength bolts widely used in automotive chassis and structural applications. SCM440 handles 12.9-grade bolts and high-preload anchor bolts. Industrial hooks, lifting rings, shackles, safety snaps, and rigging hardware are safety-critical — failure causes dropped-load incidents. SCM440 Q&T for heavy-duty hooks and shackles ensures no brittle fracture under repeated dynamic shock loading.

03

Cold Heading Steel

Cold heading steel is the lifeblood of Taiwan's fastener industry, which ranks top-three globally in screw and nut exports — almost entirely cold-formed. 10B33 after spheroidize annealing delivers excellent cold formability and is the primary cold heading material for 8.8-grade structural and flange bolts; boron addition ensures adequate hardenability depth even in small diameters. 50BV30 suits higher-strength, higher-fatigue-resistance fasteners with stable post-Q&T properties. 40ACR handles special fasteners and formed parts requiring higher post-forming strength. Spheroidize annealing quality directly determines fastener plant die life and defect rates — insufficient spheroidization means excessive resistance during cold forming, premature die wear, and product cracking.
